About the position
A well-established company based in the East Rand is looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join their EMT Division.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Trade Tested Auto Electrician or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic
- 4–5 years' post-apprenticeship experience
- Valid driver's licence
- Previous experience in the Earthmoving Equipment (EMT) industry
- Experience working on earthmoving/construction machinery involving programming, automation and electronic systems
- Practical experience in:
- Hydraulics
- Engines
- Basic electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical and electrical schematics
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out repairs and servicing of earthmoving and construction machinery
- Refurbishing and maintaining EMT construction machines
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Working with machine programming, automation and electronic systems
- Reading and interpreting technical schematics
- Ensuring all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the required standards
- Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment
