About the position

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise workshop staff.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain Mercedes Benz Trucks.
• Use the Mercedes Star Diagnostics Computer System for fault finding and diagnostics.
• Attend to mechanical breakdowns.
• Carry out bodywork and welding repairs.
• Manage workshop operations and ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Control and monitor workshop staff performance.
• Oversee other branch Workshop Foreman and act as a mentor.
• Manage job cards and workshop administration.
• Handle licence administration and related documentation.
• Control workshop costs, stock and equipment.
• Ensure workshop tools and equipment are maintained and properly controlled.
• Work overtime when required to meet operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Prior Managerial experience
• 8 to 10 years indusrtry experience
• Knowledge and experience working on Mercedes Benz Trucks
• Ability to work with the Mercedes Star Diagnostics Computer System
• Bodywork and welding skills
• Valid South African EC driver's licence
• Solid hard worker
• Ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to work overtime and ability to handle mechanical breakdowns.
• Ability to control and manage workshop staff
• Own tools will be advantages
