Workshop Manager - Pump Industry

About the position

A well-established industrial pumps company supplying technically advanced products for a variety of industries and applications requires the above to be responsible for the daily maintenance of the workshop and office.
Minimum requirements for the role:

• Previous experience in pump set building and workshop management.
• Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Previous AutoCAD experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to train and supervise staff.
• The successful candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Responsible for the daily maintenance of the workshop and office.
• Managing workshop staff, including training and supervision.
• Ordering workshop consumables and job equipment.
• Designing base plates and pump sets for new quotations (AutoCAD experience would be an advantage).
• Ensuring all workshop equipment is in good working order and maintaining up-to-date certificates.
• Maintaining vehicles with scheduled services.
• Building pump sets and training others to do so.
• Liaising with salesmen regarding pump builds.
• Keeping a building register for QCP documents (new builds, repairs).
• Placing orders with suppliers.
• Assisting branches with drawings and quotations on base plates.
• Implementing and maintaining quality control measures.
• Conducting site commissioning and repair work.
• Ensuring workshops in Durban, Cape Town, and Rustenburg are well-equipped and maintained.
• Opening the workshop in the morning.
• Monitoring drivers and store staff.
