About the position
[DRIVERS LICENSE & A RELIABLE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED]
Our client within the transport and logistics space is seeking a workshop foreman to join the team. Candidates are required to have a completed matric, as well as a mechanical qualification or similar. Previous exposure to a similar role within the transport and logistics environment working with tautliner and tipper trailers is required to qualify for the role.
Candidates are required to be qualified to operate heavy machinery in the role, ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to. The workshop Forman will be responsible for overseeing both the workshop and wash bay and need to ensure that repair & maintenance work on tautliners & tipper trailers are up to standard.
Required Skills & Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment & hiring of new employees.
- Conduct orientation & training of new employees.
- Create & manage employee work schedules.
- Arrange repairs & servicing of equipment.
- Demonstrate strong leadership.
- Has a strong knowledge of trailer repairs (tautliners & side tipper trailers)
