About the position
Well established company has a vacancy for a Workshop co-ordinator who will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Maintenance Stores and Workshop including procurement of engineering spares (ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained) and general management of the workshop. The position will also be responsible for calibration and record keeping of equipment on site. This role is suited to an artisan from the FMCG industry who has workshop and stock management experience, is a strong leader who has sound knowledge of business management. Implement and maintain a purchasing framework for engineering goods, including engineering stores, spares and equipment.
Placing orders for Engineering spares, stock and equipment and administration of the purchasing process.
Maintaining optimal stock levels in Engineering stores. Stock takes of items in maintenance stores.
Monitor workshop team & environment to ensure operations are in compliance with health and safety standards as set out by OHS team /Gov requirements. Keeping records of inspections and scheduling of such.
Liaise with Operations to prioritise jobs according to production requirements.
Liaise with the Quality Assurance department to ensure food safety, quality and product specifications are constantly met or exceeded.
Conduct assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency.
Ensure yields of all materials are maximized and that all waste levels are minimized through the value chain.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualified artisan with experience in running a maintenance store, ordering parts, services and equipment.
Experience in the food industry will be an advantage
SYSPRO experience would be advantageous.
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
Understanding and experience with equipment calibrations, legal inspections and record keeping of such work.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing also an advantage
