- Working Foreman (Automotive Industry) - Sandton, Gauteng - Salary R30,000 to R35,000
A forward-thinking automotive group based in Sandton is looking for a hands-on Working Foreman to lead and support our workshop technical team. This role is ideal for a qualified technician with a passion for high-quality workmanship, leadership, and driving team performance in a fast-paced, digitally integrated environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric with formal technical qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a qualified technician
- Prior experience in team leadership or quality control
- Background in corporate dealerships and volume brands
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach workshop technicians to meet daily output and quality targets
- Diagnose and repair vehicles to OEM standards
- Ensure job card accuracy, quality control, and warranty compliance
- Manage workshop workflow, clockings, and productivity reporting
- Oversee pre-delivery inspections and final quality checks
- Maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workshop environment
- Provide hands-on technical assistance and mentoring to junior staff
Key Competencies:
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- High attention to detail and time management
- Proven leadership and training abilities
- Proficient in interpreting service manuals, wiring diagrams, and OEM standards
