About the position

Exciting career opportunities for 5x Welders within a manufacturing environment
Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12/ National Certificate NQF Level 4
• Qualified Trade Welder Certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Welding utilising the SMAW, GMAW, TIG and Orbital TIG welding processes
• Read drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Cut and prepare materials according to engineering approved drawings
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded & align components using callipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces
• Gas weld copper pipes with purging lines, copper to copper and silver solder welding
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
• Inspect welded material to ensure no visible defects are detected
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Ensure all ferrous and non-ferrous materials are identified, marked, and stored correctly
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
