Weighbridge Operator

About the position

Job Summary:
To support the business in operational administration functions relating to receiving and dispatching of trucks, weighbridge duties, stock control as well as general administration
Reports to Weighbridge Manager

Responsibilities:

• Checking and logging drivers' details as they come in and out of the site
• Weighing lorries when they arrive and leave
• Filling in inspection sheets
• Booking other site visitors in and out
• Updating records on computer systems
• Answering phone enquiries
• Dealing with other administrative tasks
• Operating the weighbridge
• Print out daily reports on dispatched and received
• Filling of weighbridge tickets and ensure all tickets are forwarded to material department for data filling
• Assist by sending Emails for customer service if they need weighbridge tickets
• Receiving of phone calls
• Direct traffic coming onto site and operate weighbridge, recording all vehicles entering/leaving the site
• Record weights & material type by vehicle, completing appropriate documentation and collect driver
• Signatures, etc. for accounting purpose; update weighbridge system accordingly
• Maintain the weighbridge and general area of the weighbridge including the office in a clean, tidy and hazard free condition
• Assist with general administrative duties and customer service, answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate
• Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
• Complete any other reasonable tasks or requests as required
• Receiving stock or trucks
• Trucks inspection on arrival
• Allocating numbers to loads (Stock received) using a control document book
• Physical Stock count at the start and end of every shift
• Issuing stock to production
• Emailing reports daily
• Making sure that the weighbridge area is clean
• Co-ordination of raw materials

Requirements:

• Matric
• Weighbridge Operator certificate an advantage
• Good communication skills
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent IT skills
