About the position

Postion Summary:
The NRF seeks to appoint a dynamic and skilled Web Development Specialist to drive the NRF’s digital presence and ensure a world-class online experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Web Development & Project Managementbe responsible for leading the end-to-end development of NRF websites/sub-sites, ensuring alignment with business requirements and the IT technology roadmap
  • assume a central role in project management, coordinating tasks, implementation, and timelines for the successful launch of new web projects, sub-sites, or site refreshes
  • provide technical consultation for project specifications, offering expertise on feasibility and implementation
  • Digital Content, Multimedia, & UXcollaborate with graphic designers to integrate visually compelling and brand-consistent elements like feature images, promotional banners, and landing pages, ensuring they are optimized for web use and page load times
  • implement the Digital Content Strategy by proposing and integrating motion pictures, podcasts, and video shorts to enhance engagement and knowledge dissemination
  • design and develop the UX/UI to ensure an intuitive and user-friendly experience across all devices (responsive design)
  • implement and oversee content uploads, ensuring SEO best practices and priority handling for time-sensitive content (e

  • Maintenance, Security, and Performanceensure high-availability, high-performing, and secure websites by implementing robust security measures, conducting regular backend audits, and promptly applying updates and patches

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:
  • 5-8 years
  • A Degree (NQF 7) or higher qualification in computer science/ programming or Web Development Over 5 years of solid knowledge and experience in programming applications and proven work experience as a developer/web programmer

Experience:
  • Analytical thinking and a logic-driven approach to solving problems
  • Creativity, an aesthetic sense, and being a dedicated team player
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good project management skillsWork well under pressure
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, and work overtime when needs be

Knowledge:
  • Web Programming/Development: Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Solid knowledge of Web application development, Web development frameworks, and Content Management Systems
  • Expertise in SEOStrong skills in UX and UI design and Responsive design/development
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite
  • Demonstrated ability in Graphic Design and Video Editing (aligned with the "Go Digital" initiative)
