About the position
Our client within the water solutions and chemicals space is seeking a skilled and qualified Water Treatment R&D and Application Chemist. Candidates are required to have a completed bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Water Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, and Microbiology. Proven experience in in water treatment chemistry, including laboratory & filed-based application is required.
The Water Treatment R&D and Application Chemist will be responsible for developing, customizing, and optimizing advanced water treatment solutions. This role combines laboratory research with field-based application, requiring a strong technical foundation in chemistry and a practical ability to solve complex water treatment challenges across industrial and commercial systems. The position plays a key role in bridging innovation, product development, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications Include:
- Strong foundation in formulation chemistry and industrial water treatment processes.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate data-driven research with practical implementation.
- Systems thinker with a passion for problem-solving and innovation in water management.
- Analyze and interpret water chemistry data to recommend tailored treatment solutions.
- Formulate and test chemical blends for multiple applications, including reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and clarification processes.
- Conduct laboratory validation and monitor field trials to assess treatment performance.
- Standardize treatment protocols, document best practices, and capture intellectual property in formulation and application processes.
- Collaborate with operations teams to support scale-up of chemical production and ensure application efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technical staff, while supporting structured knowledge transfer from senior staff.
- Stay current with industry developments, new technologies, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve solutions.
