About the position
Overview:
The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for managing warehouse staff including assistants, clerks, and forklift drivers.
The role supports warehouse activities to meet company and client goals with a focus on food safety, quality, and culture. Experience in the FMCG - Foods sector is critical for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and coordinating warehouse space and activities
- Managing incoming and outgoing goods, developing tracking systems
- Ensuring stock rotation and inventory management
- Communicating with internal and external customers about goods status
- Maximizing space utilization and maintaining SHEQ standards
- Record keeping, inspections, training, PPE, and warehouse inductions
- Collaborating with SHEQ team to ensure compliance
- Preparing monthly reports on forecasts, budgeting, and trends
- Managing supplier pallets and executing daily returns
- Performing ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Matric qualification (minimum); Tertiary degree/diploma in Logistics preferred
- Experience with SAGE Evolution advantageous
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Minimum 3 years' warehousing experience in the FMCG-Foods industry
- Experience in medium/large warehousing environments
- CHEP Pallet management
- On-time live SAGE performance
- Monitoring product and packaging specifications
- SHEQ compliance and best practices
- Personnel management and cost containment
