Warehouse Supervisor

About the position

Our client is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Supervisor to join our growing team in Durban North
Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 with additional certifications preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License (essential).
• 2+ years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
• 5+ years’ in warehouse/logistics/operations roles.

Skills & Competencies

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAGE Evolution (or similar).
• Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and delegate effectively.
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with ISO and SHEQ requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations

• Supervise daily operations: receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching.
• Ensure warehouse layout optimizes space and workflow.
• Control operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Provide support with driving and delivery when needed (valid driver’s license required).

Stock & Inventory Control

• Oversee stock control and reconciliations 
• Conduct and manage stock takes, ensuring accuracy and minimal discrepancies.
• Monitor non-stock items and minimize scrap in line with environmental standards.
• Ensure all items are stored neatly and labelled correctly.

Distribution & Logistics

• Manage dispatch processes to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
• Plan efficient delivery routes and manage freight forwarders.
• Ensure the company’s fleet is well maintained and compliant with traffic laws.

Receiving

• Supervise receiving processes to ensure quality and accuracy of deliveries.
• Oversee container offloading, checking, and binning 

Administration

• Compile and submit regular reports on stock, fleet, variances, and inventory.
• Monitor slow-moving and dead stock.
• Order PPE and support admin needs 

SHEQ Compliance

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies (OHS Act, stacking regulations).
• Promote a clean, safe warehouse environment.
• Participate in audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
