About the position

DUR002075LB –  Warehouse Supervisor

Purpose of the job:
Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse including Staffing, health & Safety and cost management.

Required Qualifications 

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma / and or tertiary qualification in material management, inventory, commodity procurement or related equivalent.
  • Minimum experience of 4 to 5 years in the fields of warehousing, stock control or supply chain

Technical Competencies and responsibilities

  • Warehouse Management & Administration
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse
  • Ensure accurate warehouse space planning. (planogram)
  • Ensure Materials Handling Equipment is serviced, in good working order. Fuel is available where required.
  • Health & Safety - Ensure the warehouse is compliant to all health & Safety standards.
  • Maintain and ensure the Health & Safety file as well as the electronic Mango System are up to date at all times
  • Warehouse Cost Control - Ensure that all warehouse costs are constantly monitored and controlled.
  • Housekeeping - Ensure the warehouse is always clean and clear of debris.
  • Staff Management Ensure warehouse is fully always staffed according to the approved organisation structure.

  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to set deadlines and achieve them.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Literacy and numeracy
  • Strong computer knowledge including accounting software and Excel skills.
