Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager with strong textile warehouse experience to oversee all warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, warehousing, dispatch, receiving, and staff while ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of textile products. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent warehouse management experience and a solid understanding of textile materials, stock control, and warehouse best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory control of textile products.
- Ensure accurate stock management, cycle counts, stock takes, and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain warehouse layout and storage systems to maximise space utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and lead warehouse staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company procedures.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Logistics, and Sales departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Manage warehouse equipment, maintenance requirements, and asset control.
- Prepare operational reports and provide regular feedback to management.
- Drive cost control while maintaining excellent service levels.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- Qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Warehouse Manager.
- Essential experience managing a textile warehouse.
- Strong knowledge of textile materials, fabrics, rolls, finished goods, and warehouse handling processes.
- Experience managing warehouse staff in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong inventory and stock control experience.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP systems.
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
