Warehouse Manager (Raw Material)
Summary of position
A leading Furniture Manufacturer, situated in the South of Johannesburg, is seeking to employ a Warehouse Manager responsible for managing the company's RAW MATERIAL STORES inventory, ensure that inventory levels are accurate and that inventory is kept in a cost-effective manner. It will also include keeping inventory records by conducting physical counts of inventory and updating inventory records.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Identify, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures for all raw material warehouses.
- Maintain complete and accurate inventory reports.
- Assist in preparing for audits.
- Assist in monthly stock takes and weekly cycle counts to ensure stock integrity and accuracy.
- Proactively identify, mitigate, track, and report inventory issues
- Supervise, evaluate, mentor, train, empower and coach staff members, including goal setting and performance management.
- Determine staff levels and assign workloads.
- Manages inventory levels, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained, and that inventory levels are replenished in a timely manner.
- Oversee the placing of orders and ensure requested goods are delivered on time.
- Conducts regular spot-checks of inventory levels, jobs held in holding area's and implement preventative methods on any shortcomings identified.
- Creates, implements, and maintains inventory control procedures to meet company goals.
- Monitoring and maintaining current inventory levels, including reconciling stock counts to computer reports.
- Manage the rebate stores in accordance with SARS requirements.
- Submission of monthly reports
- Carry out any other reasonable requests in line with the position and/or knowledge and experience requested by your superior
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate with a relevant tertiary education /diploma directly related to the duties and resposibilities specified, with at least 3 years' experience.
- Must be computer literate. SYSPRO experience advantageous.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data.
- Have a sense of urgency, a problem solver with an analytical mindset to be able to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Interpersonal skills, self-confidence and negotiating skills for establishing good working relationships with staff and other key role players.
- Decision-making skills for making timely and informed decisions on stock management.
- To work in a warehouse environment and have a hands-on approach to maintaining inventory levels, supervising supply deliveries and warehouse staff.
