Warehouse Controller

About the position

Job purpose:
To manage the dispatch and receiving of goods from suppliers and the Warehouse to the customers, by verifying orders and stock and arranging transportation.

Duties:

• Receive stock as per company procedures.
• Stock to be check against company purchase order before accepting. Stock not on the PO but on delivery truck must be authorised by branch manager before offloading.
• Controller not to accept any deliveries from supplier without a PO. Must be authorised by branch manager.
• Returning stock or empties to supplier a return to supplier must be generated immediately and signed as per policy.
• One pallet stock always down for pickers
• Keep stock filled up from the bulk store
• Ensure that warehouse staff level the stock before close of business for easy daily stock counts.
• Take empty pallets to the bulk store
• Rotate the stock
• Ullages.
• Stock must be counted daily.
• Ensure forklift drivers is adhering to warehouse speed limits.

Customer service

• Receive invoice from customer
• Scan invoice to produce picking slip.
• Hand picking slip to picker to pick stock.
• Check stock for correct product, size, and quantity as per picking slip.
• Follow company process to despatch stock to customer.

DRIVE THROUGH - MAKING SURE THAT WAREHOUSE STAFF DO THE FOLLOWING:

• Fill up all the lines all the time from the bulk store No open gaps in between pallets
• One pallet always down for pickers - Cut open the plastic wrapping
• Level the stock
• Take empty pallets and divider boards to the bulk store
• Rotate the stock
• Ullages.
• Housekeeping is of a high standard.

WAREHOUSE - MAKING SURE THAT WAREHOUSE STAFF DO THE FOLLOWING:

• Fill up all allocated space with stock
• Fill up the top shelves with back up stock
• Rotate the stock - FIFO
• Check expiry dates - FIFO
• Take empty pallets / divider boards / plastics to the bulk store
• Level the stock
• No loose cases on the wrong pallets
• Ullages
• Wine boxes - Check for damages and/or leakages
• To ensure Warehouse and workstations are always kept clean.
• Perform daily stock counts as per company procedure.
• All daily paperwork is stored in date order.

Qualifications and experience:
Matric
2 years' experience in a dispatch/warehouse environment
