About the position
Warehouse and Distribution Manager
Johannesburg, Gauteng
Key Responsibilities:
Key Skills & Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations
- Staff and operations management experience
- Inventory control, stock accuracy, and dispatch/logistics coordination
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
Qualifications:
A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields:
Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Operations Management
- Warehouse management:
- Housekeeping
- Inventory control including stock counts
- Picking process including pick face order
- Fine picking to Sales Force
- Outside market orders
- Cartons utilization
- Manage and reduce short picks
- Staff management of team
- Equipment management
- Health and Safety
- Payroll - hours worked and overtime
- Night shift where applicable
- Safekeeping of stock and assets
- Work closely with the Planning team on imported products arrivals
- Distribution management:
- Manage and reduce shortages
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to avoid any shortages in orders
- Pick, pack and shipment of shortages
- Shipment of orders
- Daily check of picking/dispatch notes outstanding
- Printing of waybills
- Manage relationship with Courier companies
- Work closely with IT on any integration solutions
- Key KPI's
- Time from order to shipment < 2 days
- Shipment accuracy >99%
- Picking accuracy >98%
