As a Ventilation Officer in the Mining Industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and health of underground mine workers. You will be responsible for designing and implementing ventilation systems to control dust, heat, and gas levels in the mine. Your expertise in ventilation engineering principles and regulations will be key to maintain a safe and comfortable working environment underground.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and implement ventilation systems in underground mining operations.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with ventilation regulations and standards.
• Monitor and analyze ventilation parameters to optimize airflow and control hazardous substances.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement safety procedures related to ventilation.
• Provide training and guidance to mine personnel on ventilation safety.
• Investigate ventilation-related incidents and propose corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Chamber of Mines Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control
• Certificate in Environmental Health
• Certificate in Occupational Hygiene
• Certificate in Occupational Hygiene Risk Assessment
• Certificate in Occupational Hygiene Legislation
• Minimum of 5 years experiences in a trackless, and conventional underground mining environment, with practical experience in the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene field
  experience in the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene field
  experience in the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene field
• Knowledge of Vuma, Ventsim design or any other ventilation software
• Relevant engineering degree or diploma in Mine Ventilation or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Ventilation Officer in the mining industry.
• Sound knowledge of mine ventilation systems, regulations, and standards.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
