About the position
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced nursing professional to lead a Neonatal unit in Johannesburg. Our client is seeking a clinically strong and confident leader with specialist Maternity and Neonatal experience who is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality care to newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective clinical and operational leadership within the Neonatal unit
- Ensure the delivery of safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care
- Lead, support, and develop the nursing team
- Monitor compliance with clinical, infection prevention, and patient safety standards
- Manage unit resources effectively
- Promote a positive patient and family experience
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and records
- Support staff competency development and ongoing learning
- Collaborate with doctors and the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to quality improvement and effective unit management
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Current SANC registration
- Postgraduate qualification in Maternity and Neonatal Nursing - essential
- Proven Maternity and Neonatal experience - essential
- Postgraduate qualification in Management will be advantageous
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Sound clinical knowledge of neonatal nursing practices
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment
