About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Unit Manager to lead a High Care Unit and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care. The successful candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with effective people and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the High Care Unit.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance and patient safety standards.
- Monitor patient outcomes and departmental performance.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource utilisation.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote effective collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current SANC registration.
- Relevant Critical Care qualification advantageous.
- Previous High Care or Critical Care experience.
- Proven leadership or unit management experience.
- Strong clinical and operational knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
