Unit Manager - Emergency Department

About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced Unit Manager to lead a busy Emergency Department in Klerksdorp. This opportunity is ideal for a clinically skilled nursing professional with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering exceptional emergency care while driving operational excellence within a dynamic private healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Emergency Department
• Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality emergency nursing care
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the nursing team to achieve clinical excellence
• Coordinate patient flow and promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection prevention, and quality standards
• Manage staffing, resources, and stock to support efficient department operations
• Drive continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing with Midwifery
• Postgraduate Qualification in Trauma Nursing with current SANC registration in the specialty
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Relevant nursing experience to meet the critical outputs of the role
• Proven leadership and people management skills will be advantageous
• Basic understanding of labour legislation, financial management, and supply chain management principles
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its role players will be advantageous
• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel
