Job Overview
A leading organisation within the financial services sector is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to enhance the quality and usability of its digital platforms through user-centred research, interaction design and innovative digital solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing software interfaces and workflows that meet customer needs, improve usability and create intuitive digital experiences that support customer acquisition, engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user research, user testing and usability assessments.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes and task flows based on user requirements and research findings.
- Create user personas using qualitative and quantitative research and data.
- Define appropriate interaction models and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Conduct concept and usability testing and incorporate feedback into designs.
- Identify and solve UX challenges relating to usability, findability and overall customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers, Developers, Product Owners and other stakeholders to deliver intuitive digital solutions.
- Translate user and business requirements into effective interaction designs.
- Communicate design concepts, wireframes and prototypes clearly to development teams and stakeholders.
- Work with UI Designers to ensure visually appealing and consistent digital experiences.
- Apply information architecture and interaction design principles to digital platforms.
- Understand product specifications, customer behaviour and user psychology.
- Monitor competitor products, emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Ensure designs align with established UX/UI governance, standards and design principles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the organisation's digital customer experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant university degree, such as:
- B.Com Informatics
- B.Eng
- B.Sc
- or a related qualification.
- 5-7 years' experience in UX Design, UI Design, Interaction Design or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering successful UX/UI and digital projects.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating successful UX, UI and/or digital design projects is essential.
- Experience with user research, usability testing and design validation.
- Experience with interaction design and information architecture.
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as UXPin, Balsamiq or similar.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of JavaScript would be advantageous.
- Exposure to project management and research methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Commercial awareness and a sound understanding of business requirements.
- Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder communication skills.
