About the position

Description/Synopsis:

A leading organisation in the commercial transport industry is seeking an experienced Parts Sales Representative to join their team. The role focuses on driving sales growth within a designated region, with a strong emphasis on commercial vehicle and truck parts sales.

 

This position calls for a commercially driven, customer-focused sales professional who performs well in a target-driven environment. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and providing tailored parts solutions to meet specific customer and fleet requirements.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with workshop teams, fleet operators, procurement departments, and internal parts specialists to ensure customers receive the correct products and support. The role requires a proactive individual with strong negotiation skills, solid commercial understanding, and the ability to build long-term client relationships within the commercial vehicle industry.





Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 essential

  • Diploma in Marketing, Sales Management, Automotive Management, or a related field advantageous (not essential)

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience, preferably within automotive parts, truck parts, transport, or commercial vehicle sales

  • Strong understanding of B2B sales environments

  • Valid driver's licence essential

  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office and CRM systems)

  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle components, truck parts, and aftermarket products advantageous

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Sales Manager and/or Sales Director to develop parts sales strategies and growth plans for the business.

  • Responsible for the achievement of agreed sales targets and business plans.

  • Grow and develop the parts sales business through identified market segments, including fleet operators, workshops, transport companies, and other targeted channels.

  • Identify new business opportunities and actively pursue new customer acquisition.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximise repeat business and customer retention.

  • Provide customers with technical advice and recommendations regarding parts applications and product suitability.

  • Prepare quotations and proposals in line with customer requirements and company standards.

  • Coordinate with internal parts, warehouse, and technical teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment.

  • Track and report sales activities, customer interactions, and financial performance.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.

  • Resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure accurate administration of orders, pricing, and customer records through company systems.

  • Keep abreast of product developments and complete all required training within agreed timeframes.
