TPO: T24 Core Banking, Credit, Card & Payments, ATM & POS

About the position

Job Purpose


The role owns end-to-end technical product ownership for Temenos Core Banking, Credit, Card Payments, ATM POS, reporting to the Nedbank Africa Regions CIO. The role spans platform configuration and integration through to release management and operational stability, ensuring these systems support the bank's transformation, growth and straight-through processing ambitions across multiple markets. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team and partners to deploy Nedbank Africa Regions' new core technology platform.


Key focus areas:

• 
  Accountable for delivery of the first platform deployment, setting the standard and playbook for future country rollouts.
  
  
  


• 
  Technical ownership of the T24 core banking platform, including configuration, upgrades and multi-country deployment.
  
  
  


• 
  Product ownership across credit, card payments, and ATM/POS technology stacks within Temenos, with strong collaboration when leveraging enterprise platforms.
  
  
  


• 
  Drive platform integration and straight-through processing between core banking and surrounding systems.
  
  
  


• 
  Manage the technical backlog, release planning and delivery with vendors and internal engineering teams.
  
  
  


• 
  Build and lead a technical product team through direction, coaching and capability development.
  
  
  


• 
  Ensure platform stability, performance and compliance across all subsidiaries.
  
  
  


• 
  Partner with business and channel teams to translate commercial requirements into technical delivery.
  
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• 
  Lead the portfolio of assets and POCLAC, accountable for final decisions on asset-related matters, including target versus transition state and technical debt, aligned to enterprise aspirations.
  
  
  


• 
  Own the Temenos asset strategy and roadmap, translating business strategy and capability demand into technical delivery and competitive advantage across markets.
  
  
  


• 
  Own end-to-end technical product delivery, including platform configuration, integration, upgrades, releases, backlog prioritisation and multi-country deployments.
  
  
  


• 
  Ensure effective integration between core banking, credit, cards, payments, ATM/POS and surrounding enterprise platforms to support straight-through processing.
  
  
  


• 
  Maintain a stable, resilient and reliable technology environment, with appropriate focus on IT risk, governance, compliance, data integrity, disaster recovery and high availability.
  
  
  


• 
  Accountable for overall asset health, including technical debt, upgrades, planned removal, ITSM practices, automated pipelines, monitoring, data enablement, componentisation and cloud enablement where appropriate.
  
  
  


• 
  Build and lead a sustainable, high-performance technical team through recruitment, talent development, modernised skills, coaching and continuous improvement.
  
  
  


• 
  Maintain and prioritise consolidated portfolio backlogs with input from CRM/BITES, Product Owners, Journey POCLACs and engineering teams.
  
  
  


• 
  Ensure commercial soundness and economic value through effective financial management and optimisation of asset TCO.
  
  
  


• 
  Drive innovation across the asset lifecycle and ensure successful innovation and operational delivery in line with organisational strategy and methodology.
  
  
  


• 
  Establish appropriate risk and governance practices and ensure alignment with Nedbank's standards and requirements.
