About the position

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and experienced Manager: Employee Benefits and Remuneration to join a strategic Human Resources team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and implementing reward strategies that support organisational performance, talent attraction, and employee retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the overall Human Resources strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Develop and implement a Total Reward Strategy that aligns organisational values, culture, and performance.
  • Design and maintain remuneration practices, policies, and reward processes that support transparency and recognition of employee contributions.
  • Identify and implement remuneration systems that enhance organisational efficiency.
  • Oversee job evaluation processes, including standardisation of job titles and profiles.
  • Ensure the organisation is staffed with the right skills and capacity to meet current and future needs.
  • Provide accurate monthly and annual reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Manage and lead remuneration and reward-related projects.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of benefits and variable pay policies and procedures.
  • Train and develop team members to ensure they meet performance objectives and organisational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Remuneration, or Payroll (advantageous).
  • Minimum 9 years' experience in an HR Reward Services environment (Benefits and Remuneration), including at least 5 years in a specialist or management role.
  • Registration with the South African Rewards Association (SARA) as a Remuneration Specialist

  • Knowledge of job evaluation systems
  • Understanding of performance management systems (e.g., Balanced Scorecard)
  • Knowledge of change management and organisational design
  • Strong analytical, project management, and budgeting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop reward strategies
