Toolmaker

About the position

A leading manufacturing concern in the plastic moulding industry in Epping, near Cape Town wants to appoint an experienced Toolmaker, with at least 5 years' experienc in a manufacturing environment.

The position will focus on spark eroding, also known as Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), which is a manufacturing process that uses electrical sparks to remove material from the workpiece.

The job incumbent will be responsible for operating various machines (including CNC machinery) to perform precision machining jobs as well as various tool making tasks
Job Functions:

• Ensure timely delivery and adherence to set schedules for tooling projects
• Manufacture all equipment and gauges according to technical drawings and specifications
• Ensure all parts meet established quality standards and are manufactured with precision
• Adhere to all safety regulations in the workshop
• Carry out work efficiently, ensuring high-quality output and meeting deadlines

Job Requirements:- Matric or equivalent- Qualified Toolmaker with a Trade Test- At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience with Injection Moulds, including mould maintenance, repair, and manufacturing of new moulds- Injection moulding and spark eroding experience essential- Background in plastic mould manufacturing essential- Accurate, practical, systematic and good multi-tasking abilities- Good communication (English and Afrikaans) and interpersonal skills.- Be willing and able to work overtime / shifts if needed.
