About the position

Our client is a leading custom moulder in rigid plastics, supplying innovative solutions to top South African brands  
Are you a highly skilled and innovative Toolmaker commitment to the field of tool making and a dedication to its continuous advancement, a strong background in injection and extrusion blow moulding.
The Purpose of the Role:
To perform repairs and maintenance on moulds and manufacture and repair engineering components and other related items.


Role: Tool Maker

Location: Isando - Johannesburg

Qualification:
Secondary Education Grade 12
Minimum N2
Tertiary Education (including Diplomas, Certificates and Degrees)
Trade Test Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA)


Experience

• Minimum 10 years experience within the manufacturing
• industry in the position of Toolmaker and with extensive
• knowledge of Toolroom Equipment.

Competencies
Knowledge Skills

• Sound understanding of drawings.
• Sound knowledge on Lathe & milling machines, surface grinders
• Fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing.
• Sound knowledge on H & S and safe working procedures.
• Technical knowledge of plastics processing
• Problem – solving skills.
• Installation of parts & related equipment.
• Fault finding and problem solving.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to act decisively and urgently. 
• High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Other Special Requirements
Extrusion Blow moulding and Injection & stretch blow moulding machines

• Able to make good business aligned judgement decisions at an operational level whilst maintaining maintenance standards, practices & procedures in line with defined and communicated authority and as per instructions.

Accountability

• Responsible for all activities linked to position as defined.
• Ensure escalation to the appropriate level of authority.
