Toolmaker

About the position

A well-established Plastic Manufacturing company based in the East Rand is seeking a Toolmaker to join their team!
Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in a Toolmaker role
• Relevant education / Trade

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that tooling is serviced and set up to the correct specification, available for production with all necessary equipment and fittings in line with planning requirements
• Perform preventative maintenance on tool and dies
• Troubleshoot issues with tool and dies to ensure production needs are met
• Maintain and upgrade fixtures and gages
• Leads employees in good die maintenance and build practices
• Instructs in general machining practices
• Makes decisions and judgements about proper course of action for repairs and maintenance
• Maintains good safety and housekeeping practices
• Demonstrates good short- and long-term decision making and trouble shooting skills, tool room machining practices, safety, diagnosis of problems and course of action, and tool room repair and maintenance work
• Responsible for providing and implementing process improvement ideas
• Promotes teamwork and shows a willingness to work well in other departments
• Demonstrates good work planning practices to do jobs in a very timely, efficient and safe manner
• Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the Factory/position
