About the position
Introduction
To analyse and forecast people resource requirements across the Supply Chain to ensure optimal staffing for Manufacturing Plants and Logistics Distribution Centres by job, shift, day, week and month. Manage and control work types such as overtime, allowances and benefits against set standards. Develop and maintain site-specific resource models to align staffing with planned production and distribution activities, identify trends, and measure resource utilisation against best practice. Provide recommendations to Depot Heads and Supply Chain Executives to improve efficiency, productivity and cost management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Modelling and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage resource model per plant / depot.
- Review the modelling and forecasting of people resource requirements in line with planned production and distribution activities.
Performance and Monitoring:
- Review working hours, including overtime and allowances, to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Address discrepancies with the Depot, Master Data or Payroll teams.
- Collaborate with Distribution Centres and Production Plants to ensure optimal people deployment and execution.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators across all sites relating to best practice Resource Management and Deployment.
- Maintain direct oversight from the centre to ensure business units manage staff effectively.
Operational Shift Patterns and Work Practices:
- Design and monitor shift patterns.
- Ensure shift schedules adhere to business and service delivery requirements.
- Monitor shift systems and rotations.
- Ensure productivity, quality and safety are embedded in daily work practices.
Time and Attendance Systems and Master Data:
- Manage master data, shift patterns and time and attendance systems to ensure accurate reporting and payroll submissions.
- Manage time and attendance IT systems configuration and set-up.
Training:
- Train Depot Manager and Operations teams e.g. Time and Attendance Administrators on shift patterns, systems, rotations, compliance with related policies etc.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation, Health and Safety requirements and Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Understand and apply rules relating to working hours, allowances, daily and weekly rest periods, and overtime.
Supervision:
- Manage the performance and development of direct reports
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BCom Degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, B Sc. Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- 5 Years operational experience in a Supply Chain environment
