About the position

PURPOSE OF JOB

Ultimately responsible for the ongoing development / continuous improvement of the Competency Framework, Curriculum Development, IPD and CPD programme
development , learnerships as well as short and bridging courses in compliance to IFAC, PAFA, IASB, IAESB, SAQA, FASSET, ETQA, OCTO as well as Quality Management Systems and Quality Assurance.

Regularly reviews the Institute's competency framework and benchmark against global best practise.

Contribute to the development of the company's overall corporate strategy and annual performance plans.

Strategic Thought Leader for the company w.r.t Global and Local Accountancy and related Professions with specific reference to Accounting, Auditing, Business Advisory and Taxation re:

  • Education, Training, Development & Assessments (ETDA)
  • Curriculum, Innovation, Development & Design (CIDD)
  • Competency Frameworks (CF)
  • Course Material Development (CMD)
  • Research & Innovation (R&I)
  • 4IR & Digital Disruption (4IR)
  • Rationalization and Regulation (R&R)

KPA'S & KPI'S

Education, Training, Development & Assessment

  • Assist, support and regularly review ETM strategy
  • Assist and support the accreditation process and criteria in accordance with established IFAC and the company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Assist and advise the professional support program (PSP), inclusive of monitoring and moderation process and procedure for all the Institute's SAQA accredited assessors.
  • Advise ETM on a detailed professional evaluation (PE) policy, recognition of prior learning (RPL) policy and program approval policy (PAP)
  • Assist and advise an accreditation policy for tertiary institutions, ATCs and Education and Training Service Providers.
  • Assist and support the ETM department with accreditation workshops for institutions seeking accreditations.
  • Assist and advise the ETM department on the update of the logbook

Curriculum, Innovation, Development & Design (CIDD)

  • Research best practice CIDD for Accounting, Auditing, Business Advisory and Taxation
  • Develop and annually review and update the CIDD

Competency Frameworks (CF)

  • Research best practice CF for Accounting, Auditing, Business Advisory and Taxation
  • Leads the development and continuous improvement of - competency frameworks

Course Material Development (CMD)

  • Coordinates the development and continuous improvement of all course material (full, bridging etc.) in consultation with the Centre of Future Excellence (COFE) Panel
  • Annually coordinates the revision and updating of course material with the COFE Panel
  • Develop a materials development strategy

Assessment instruments and tools

  • Coordinates the development and continuous improvement of the competency-based assessment strategy and framework; the professional assessment process and RPL assessment process

Research & Innovation (R&I

  • Regularly research the Professional Accountancy Landscape re challenges, changes and developments
  • Develop visionary and innovative projects, programmes and courses
  • Research output in the accountancy profession
  • Research output in technology impacting the accountancy profession

4IR & Digital Disruption (4IR)

  • Engage and liaise with digital and 4IR thought leaders on issues, initiatives and challenges affecting the Accountancy Profession
  • Facilitate in partnering with potential service providers
  • Consult, engage, liaise with the company IT department and Committee re digitization and 4IR

Rationalization and Regulation

  • Assess and research the South African Accountancy Landscape re Professional Accountancy and related Bodies re rationalization
  • Research global and various regulatory models
  • Develop and contribute to the South African regulatory environment

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Pursue opportunity with PAO's for collaborative activities

Internal Processes

  • Financial Management
  • Draw up budgets and control expenditures for the department
  • Financial Management for the COFE through adherence through procurement and SCM policies and timelines

Job Evaluation Criteria Educational Requirements:

  • At least a Master's degree in education discipline.
  • A professional qualification is an advantage
  • Preferably member of the company
