We're hiring: Thermal Insulation Supervisor
Location: Milnerton, Cape Town
Contract: 3-Month FTC (Potential to go permanent based on performance)
Start Date: ASAP
We're looking for an experienced Thermal Insulation Supervisor to oversee insulation activities on-site, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise installation of insulation on piping, vessels, tanks, ducts, boilers, HVAC, and ammonia systems
- Manage installation of mineral wool, calcium silicate, PIR insulation, cladding, and vapour barriers
- Review drawings, verify insulation thickness, and coordinate daily crew activities
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and conduct daily toolbox talks
- Perform quality checks, inspections, and ensure proper sealing to prevent CUI
- Plan manpower, manage materials, and maintain progress reports
- Maintain documentation including inspections, method statements, permits, and handover dossiers
Requirements:
- Diploma or technical cert in Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
- 5-10 years' experience in thermal insulation projects
- Strong leadership and site coordination skills
- Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of insulation materials and ASTM standards
