Textile Planning Manager

About the position

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Textile Planning Manager to join their team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field
• 5+ years' experience in textile production planning or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of textile manufacturing processes (cutting, dyeing, finishing, packaging)
• Experience in supply chain coordination and logistics planning
• Proven track record in managing production schedules and capacity planning
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
• Strong analytical and reporting capability
• Leadership experience managing planning or production teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed production schedules aligned to demand forecasts
• Align production plans with sales forecasts and market trends
• Collaborate with design, marketing, procurement and production teams
• Monitor raw material availability and coordinate supply chain activities
• Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, labour and production capacity
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective planning strategies
• Maintain and monitor quality control checkpoints within production
• Analyze production KPIs, variances and efficiency metrics
• Provide forecasting and planning reports to Operations Manager
• Mentor and guide junior planners and planning interns
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within operations
