My client based in Woodstock is currently looking for a Test Team Lead to join their team on a contract basis.

Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years in software testing / quality engineering.
- 2+ years in a test lead, test management, or QA leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Playwright for test management and automation.
- Proven experience testing complex integrations across multiple systems.
- Experience supporting high-traffic or peak events, ensuring system stability under load.
- Retail, eCommerce, supply chain, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience in OMS/WMS integration testing and end-to-end operational processes.
- Test planning, defect management, and reporting in ADO.
- CI/CD pipeline integration for automated tests.
- API testing using Postman or other REST clients.
- Basic SQL and log analysis for troubleshooting.
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and organizational skills.
- Clear and confident communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
- Calm, decisive, and effective under pressure (e.g., during peak events).
Responsibilities
- Define and own the test strategy for WMS and eCommerce portfolios.
- Establish risk-based testing aligned to business priorities and peak events.
- Own test governance: test plans, estimates, entry/exit criteria, defect severity models, and release readiness.
- Provide quality reporting using ADO dashboards and metrics.
- Lead test planning and execution across multiple squads and releases.
- Ensure coverage of functional, exploratory, E2E, SIT, and regression testing (manual + automated).
- Coordinate test environments, data, and dependencies.
- Manage the defect lifecycle: triage, prioritisation, root cause analysis, and production defect prevention.
- Define and evolve the automation strategy for Playwright.
- Ensure automation coverage of critical customer and operational journeys.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive shift-left testing and regression suite optimization for speed, reliability, and value.
- Lead test planning and execution for peak events (e.g., Black Friday).
- Ensure readiness for high traffic, order throughput, promotions, checkout, and fulfillment.
- Coordinate performance/load testing, dress rehearsals, and rapid triage during peaks.
- Support hypercare and post-event quality reviews.
- Coordinate performance, scalability, resilience, and integration reliability testing.
- Validate monitoring, logging, and alerts.
- Support cutovers, releases, and rollback readiness.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define UAT scope and success criteria.
- Support UAT execution, defect triage, and timely sign-off.
- Communicate quality status, risks, trade-offs, and release confidence clearly.
- Lead, coach, and mentor test analysts and automation engineers.
- Build capability in ADO, Playwright automation, and WMS/eCommerce knowledge.
- Promote a quality-first culture across delivery teams.
