About the position

My client based in Cape Town (North) is currently looking for a Test Analyst to join them on an independent contract basis

We are looking for a Test Analyst to join a dynamic and collaborative technology team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions across medium to high-complexity projects.
This role is ideal for a detail-driven QA professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with cross-functional teams, and contributing meaningfully across the full software testing lifecycle.

?? About the Role
As a Test Analyst , you will be responsible for designing and executing advanced test cases, identifying edge scenarios, and ensuring that both functional and non-functional requirements are met. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and test leads to support the successful delivery of business-critical systems.
You will also contribute to test planning, defect management, reporting, and continuous improvement of QA processes within an Agile environment.

?? Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex business and functional requirements into detailed test cases
• Design and execute functional, integration, system, and regression testing
• Identify edge cases, risks, and advanced test scenarios
• Log, track, and manage defects through to resolution
• Support API, performance, and UAT testing where required
• Ensure full test coverage and maintain high-quality documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide clear testing feedback and insights
• Contribute to test reporting, estimation, and closure activities

?? What We're Looking For

• Exposure to banking / systems
• Diploma or Degree in IT or related field (essential)
• ISTQB Foundation Certification (CTFL required; CTAL advantageous)
• 4+ years' experience in software testing
• Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Solid understanding of SQL and defect management tools
• Exposure to API testing and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, TestComplete)
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
