My client based in Tygervalley is currently looking for a Test Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant software testing experience across manual and automated testing environments
- Relevant testing certification (e.g. ISTQB Test Analyst, Automation Test Analyst or similar) will be advantageous
- Proven experience in Agile (Scrum) and iterative development environments
- Strong experience in test planning, test case design, execution, and quality assessment across the SDLC and TDLC
- Demonstrated experience in developing end-to-end test scenarios from user stories, business requirements and functional specifications
- Exposure to automation testing tools and frameworks, with a willingness to grow automation capability
- Hands-on experience with testing and development tools such as Jira, Xray, Selenium, Appium, Postman, Maven, TestNG, Bamboo, Bitbucket, IntelliJ (Java), Allure, XCUITest, SQL and database query tools
- Solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles, test metrics and reporting
- Experience in requirements management, test management and defect management tools
- Experience working in large, complex project environments and managing testing across multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
- Working knowledge of database testing, APIs and system integrations
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, scope and approaches
- Provide accurate test estimates for projects, enhancements and incidents
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, standards and processes
- Establish and manage test data strategies and environments
- Ensure all digital tools and services meet quality standards and end-user requirements
- Review and analyse functional and business requirements for completeness, clarity and testability
- Translate business capabilities into effective test scenarios and coverage models
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to refine acceptance criteria
- Define and document detailed test scenarios and objectives
- Design and develop manual and automated test cases with end-to-end coverage
- Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases
- Conduct test case reviews to ensure adequate coverage and quality
- Manage and execute test preparation and execution activities independently
- Identify, prepare and manage test data requirements
- Execute scenario-based and regression test cases
- Analyse test results and quality metrics to assess system readiness
- Log, prioritise and track defects in collaboration with development teams
- Analyse test failures and debug test scripts where required
- Provide clear reporting on test coverage, progress, risks and quality metrics
- Communicate status updates and testing insights to project stakeholders
- Provide input into automation scripts and regression test suites
- Identify and recommend opportunities for automation to improve efficiency
- Support and guide automation testing practices and frameworks
- Support and monitor User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and QA teams
- Liaise with internal and external testing service providers to ensure effective delivery
- Contribute to performance, device, penetration and integration testing initiatives
