About the position
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Territory Manager – GI (Surgery & Gastro) to manage and grow an assigned territory. The role focuses on medical device sales, business development, customer relationship management, product demonstrations and clinical support within GI and surgical environments.
Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, gastroenterologists, theatre staff, procurement teams and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct customer calls, theatre visits, product demonstrations and customer meetings.
- Provide clinical and product support during procedures, within the individual's level of competence.
- Conduct demonstrations and provide support for both capital equipment and disposable medical products.
- Introduce new GI and surgical products and solutions to customers.
- Increase the installed base of equipment and grow overall market share.
- Manage consignment stock and customer accounts effectively.
- Provide product training, in-service training and ongoing customer support.
- Develop and implement agreed territory and marketing plans to expand the customer base.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the company's GI and surgical product portfolio and its clinical applications.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen existing customer relationships.
- Complete weekly planning, sales reporting and other required administrative activities.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, company events and other company activities.
- Work closely with sales and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve revenue goals.
- Travel to outlying areas within the territory when required.
RequirementsRequirements
- Medical-related degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in surgical support, medical device sales, medical sales or the marketing of medical products.
- Experience in GI, gastroenterology or surgery will be highly advantageous.
- Experience with laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy or surgical medical devices is advantageous.
- Experience providing clinical support in theatre is advantageous.
- Experience selling or supporting capital equipment and/or disposable medical products is advantageous.
- Hospital sales experience will be advantageous.
- Strong sales, business development and customer relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Professional and confident when engaging with medical professionals and hospital stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct product demonstrations and provide clinical support.
- Ability to work independently and manage an assigned territory effectively.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Energetic, self-motivated and target-driven.
- Willing and able to travel as required.
- Willing and able to work in theatre and other relevant clinical environments.
