About the position
Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Durban, is looking to fill the position of Technology Development Chemist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work independently, must be creative and solve problems logically and analytically using conventional and unconventional techniques.
- Implements projects relating to coatings and structural polymers/product development of new and existing products.
- Development of alternate polymer technologies in order to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Ability to conduct research on subjects relating to projects, including raw materials.
- Formulate and synthesise products at laboratory and pilot plant scale.
- Generate and maintain formulation packages and technical literature on Sage x3.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- The candidate must have chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience.
- BSc in Chemistry or Polymer chemistry
- 2 years related experience in a Polymer Science laboratory (Specifically Solvent and Water-based polymers and dispersions)
