About the position

Diagnoses, repairs, and services of vehicles.
 
Key requirements include a relevant trade qualification (or N3 Mechanical Engineering), a Code 8/10 driver’s license, and proficiency in OEM diagnostic systems like ODIS, ELSA Pro, and VAS testers.
Minimum requirements:

  • Qualified (Red Seal) technician preferably with franchise dealer experience (2 Years post qualification experience).

 
Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Repairs and maintenance: Perform routine servicing (e.g., brakes, transmission, fuel, and drivetrain repairs) and ensure 100% campaign and service requirement completions.
  • Quality control: Eliminate service comebacks and test vehicles before and after repairs to guarantee safety and functionality.
  • Administration: Manage job cards, track diagnostic information accurately, and utilize in-house systems (like the Resolve system).
  • Franchise standards: Strictly adhere to franchise standards, which include targeting an 85% Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).
  • Training: Participate in ongoing web-based and in-person technical courses and assist in coaching junior apprentices.


Requirements:

  • Relevant motor mechanic trade qualifications
  • Proven workshop experience with knowledge of modern automotive mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver's license.
  • Strong communication, customer-service skills, and a deadline-oriented work ethic.
