About the position
We have two positions for our client in the earth moving equipment for Pinetown and Cape town area.
Job Title: Technician
Area; Cape Town/ Pinetown
Reporting to: Workshop manager
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Certification or diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Earth Moving Mechanic (or relevant experience may be sufficient).
2. Valid driver's license.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to)
1.Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems and related componentry.
2.Diagnoses and troubleshoot, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in diesel-powered machines.
3.Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery.
4.Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify faults.
5.Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions and other componentry.
6.Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
7.Follow safety protocols and ensure safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
8.Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
1. Proven experience as an Earth Moving Mechanic.
2. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems, components, and repair techniques.
3. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for heavy machinery.
4. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Good communication and customer service skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
