About the position
A great opportunity exists for a Technical Support Engineer, who is skilled in resolving complex technical issues, implementing efficient troubleshooting processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to join our team based in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
Minimum requirements:
- Mechanical engineering qualification [higher national diploma or BTech/ BEng degree].
- At least 2 years managerial experience.
- Parasolid CAD experience [SolidWorks or Inventor]
- High technical acumen.
- Above Advanced Excel skill.
- Very Hands-on.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willing to Overtime and weekends if required
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering support to all departments, which could include but not be limited to the following:
- Technical CAD drawings of tools, parts, products and the like.
- Problem solving.
- Design of machine components, production tooling and the like.
- Calculations relating to infrastructure improvements [pneumatic supplies, power reticulation, HVAC, process machinery etc.]
- Supporting maintenance management by providing specific technical assistance with respect to the following:
- Suggesting routine maintenance schedules for equipment.
- Machine fault finding, automation and improvements.
- Maintenance team time and schedule management.
- Developing critical machine spares lists and preventative maintenance plans to reduce machine downtime.
- Development and management of maintenance budgets and spending projections.
- Assist the project management team with the planning, design and implementation of large CAPEX projects, which may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Building and structure extensions.
- Expansion of building services [gas, electrical, sewage, etc.].
- Selection, purchase and installation of ancillary equipment [HVAC, dust extraction, generators, overhead cranes, etc].
The successful applicant must have a Driver’s License and have his/her own car, must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and execute daily functions. Ability to function as part of a team as well as individually is critical.
