About the position

DUR002053 – TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE – KZN

Purpose of the Job:
To support the development of new technical knowledge and deliver exceptional customer service in the field of agriculture, particularly in Macadamia-producing areas of KZN. This involves conducting field trials, establishing monitoring networks, providing technical support, and contributing to quality management projects, ultimately promoting the company's products and advancing sustainable agricultural practices.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc in agronomy, agriculture, or entomology.
  • A commerce-related degree or diploma (advantageous).
  • AVCASA certification (preferred)

Technical Competencies & Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in a similar or related position.
  • Understanding of insect biology and ecology in agroecosystems.
  • Knowledge of agronomy, agriculture, and entomology.
  • Knowledge of pest management products and IPM systems, particularly in citrus.
  • Experience planning, designing, and conducting field trials to evaluate product performance, application rates, and timing, ensuring adherence to protocols and achieving meaningful results.
  • Proficiency in using microscopes for examining pests, pathogens, and other microscopic organisms, aiding in field observations and analysis.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports on field trials, monitoring data, and technical findings, facilitating, communication with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license.
