Overview
We are a pre-eminent and trusted supplier in the industrial, commercial, and public amenity lighting industry, distinguished by a history of over five decades providing expert, high-quality, and specialized lighting solutions. We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient Sales Representative to drive new business development and manage client relationships within the KwaZulu-Natal region.
Position: Technical Sales Representative
Location: KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Territory
1. Essential Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a blend of strong technical acumen, proven sales ability, and professional conduct.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Technical Sales Background: A strong working knowledge of the lighting industry, including product technologies (LED and HID), is highly advantageous. Exceptional technical sales candidates from adjacent heavy industry sectors will also be considered.
- Design Proficiency: Proven ability to utilize lighting design software, such as AGI or Relux, is essential for developing and presenting technical application solutions to clients.
- Market Development: Demonstrated ability to proactively engage in cold calling and develop new market segments.
- Sales Performance: Proven capacity to successfully close sales and consistently meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Professional Communication: Excellent professional communication skills are required, with the ability to converse confidently and effectively with diverse, high-level personnel, including engineers, mining staff, heavy industry representatives, and contractors.
- Administrative Diligence: Must maintain a basic computer skillset and demonstrate discipline in completing daily call reports on the company’s CRM platform.
- Independence: Must be able to work independently, plan sales activities efficiently, and manage the territory effectively.
- Conduct: Must be neat and presentable.
- Mobility: Must possess their own reliable vehicle for business travel within the KZN territory.
- Representation: Required to attend product and trade shows as and when necessary.
2. Remuneration and Benefits Structure
- Basic Salary: The basic salary is market-related and determined based on the candidate's technical sales experience and track record.
- Commission Structure: A competitive commission structure is provided, designed to reward the ability to meet and exceed sales targets [User Input].

- Total Compensation Package (CTC): Benefits are packaged as part of the total Cost to Company (CTC) structure and include a Car Allowance, Medical Aid, and Provident Fund.
3. Industry Experience Consideration
A lighting background or strong understanding of the lighting industry is highly beneficial. However, the organization will consider exceptional technical sales professionals who come from other specialized industrial, electrical, or mechanical component industries, provided they demonstrate the required technical aptitude (including design software use) and the specified experience in high-level industrial client engagement.
