Technical Sales Representative What wins a capital equipment sale? Technical insight, the right solution and persistent follow-through. Is this you? Persistence, technical curiosity and commercial judgement shape how you sell. You enjoy being in the field, uncovering operational challenges and earning trust over longer sales cycles. Independence suits you, but you also know when to draw on sales colleagues and technical specialists. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Developing the territory starts with prospecting, customer visits and conversations across food processing, packaging and manufacturing operations. You will qualify opportunities, assess production requirements and recommend fit-for-purpose machinery solutions before managing proposals, negotiations and closing. Alongside new business development, you will grow existing accounts, coordinate demonstrations and technical discussions, maintain CRM records and stay involved through delivery, installation, commissioning and follow-up. Where you'll be doing it Across the Western Cape, Garden Route and Eastern Cape, you will represent an established international industrial machinery manufacturer with a long-standing South African operation. The field-based environment combines considerable autonomy with experienced technical support in Cape Town, Johannesburg and internationally, plus regular engagement with the Cape Town branch. What you'll need A Matric qualification and proven technical or capital equipment sales experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment are essential. Your evidence should include new business development, longer-cycle equipment sales and engagement with technical and commercial decision-makers. Strong machinery aptitude, Microsoft Office and CRM capability are required, together with a valid driving licence, reliable vehicle, valid passport and willingness to travel.
