About the position
Technical Sales Representative
The role focuses on selling diesel and motor engineering services, field services, and truck rebuild solutions. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years’ technical sales experience in mining or construction, a strong understanding of diesel engines and earthmoving equipment and hold a valid driver’s licence. A technical qualification in diesel/petrol mechanics or field service is advantageous.
The role requires frequent travel, mine-site engagement, and the ability to respond quickly to operational breakdowns and urgent client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and maintain the company as a preferred vendor with mining and industrial clients.
- Drive sales growth through active promotion of services to new and existing customers.
- Build strong relationships with mining engineering and procurement teams.
- Identify, report, and follow up on leads, tenders, and quotation opportunities.
- Provide technical support and solutions aligned to client operational requirements.
- Submit weekly sales, leads, and client visit reports; maintain accurate CRM data.
- Gather and report competitor intelligence to management.
- Remain flexible and responsive to urgent breakdowns, shifting schedules, and after-hours client needs.
- Travel extensively within the region, including overnight stays when required.
