Job Description:
A well-established and trusted manufacturer of high-quality industrial, commercial, and public amenity lighting is seeking a dynamic and technically-minded Technical Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-oriented individual with a strong understanding of electrical and lighting solutions, capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage with potential clients in the industrial, commercial, and public sectors to generate new business opportunities.
- Provide expert technical consultation to clients, assessing their lighting needs and recommending appropriate solutions from our product portfolio.
- Conduct on-site visits to survey and evaluate project requirements, taking accurate measurements and gathering necessary data for proposals.
- Prepare detailed and accurate quotations, proposals, and tender submissions for lighting projects.
- Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and meet client specifications.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the company's products, as well as industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to project completion, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the company's brand and solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of 3-5 years in a technical sales role, preferably within the electrical, lighting, or a related manufacturing industry.
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Illumination Design, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
- Strong technical acumen and a solid understanding of lighting principles, electrical systems, and product specifications.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- A valid driver's license and own reliable transport are essential.
- Ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
