Technical Sales Engineer

About the position

A Well - Established Company in Johannesburg seeks a Technical Sales Engineer
Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct customer visits to identify opportunities and provide technical solutions.
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
• Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across multiple industries.
• Liaise with production and procurement teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
• Monitor project progress and provide customers with regular updates.
• Identify market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve monthly sales targets.
• Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, and customer activity reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or similar technical qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in technical sales within the engineering, manufacturing, mining, or industrial sectors.
• Experience selling engineering products, fabricated components, machining services, or industrial solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Sound understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining and fabrication.
• Strong business development and customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP or quotation system experience is advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within Gauteng.
