Technical Reporting Accountant

About the position

We are actively seeking a seasoned Chartered Accountant with strong IFRS technical knowledge to take on a leadership role as a Technical Reporting Accountant. This position will involve leading the management of technical financial reporting including; analysing data to meet specific reporting requirements, generating necessary reports, overseeing statutory reporting, and applying technical skills to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Additionally, the role will encompass handling ad hoc technical reporting and participating in project management initiatives as necessary
Responsibilities:

• Address technical queries (IFRS) and provide relevant technical opinions;
• Prepare specific financial statements and review financial statements when necessary;
• Supervise income and deferred tax calculations for managed entities;
• Assist in preparing and submitting provisional tax returns and annual IT14 returns;
• Oversee the submission of all statutory returns;
• Assist auditors during interim and final audits, including the preparation of related working papers;
• Provide support for IFRS and other reporting requirements and disclosures at interim and year-end;
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of reporting standards and stay updated on new effective standards;
• Contribute to drafting and implementing policies related to financial systems and procedures;
• Support Financial Managers throughout the reporting process;
• Assist with MMH QIHF reporting and supervise financial reporting by Realfin;
• Positively influence and participate in change initiatives;
• Participate in ad-hoc projects related to the financial and administration needs of the finance division.

Education and Experience:

• Qualified CA with essential post-article experience;
• Experience with IFRS reporting;
• Strong comprehension of Income tax and substantial experience in drafting and understanding financial statements;
• Advantageous experience in a corporate finance environment.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel;
• Familiarity with Draftworx/CaseWare;
• Knowledge of JDE/Insight reporting and Cognos is considered an advantage.
