About the position

Volkswagen South Africa is looking for an Technical Project Engineer to join there "The Young Professional Development Programme " , to be based in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities :

• Coordinating Product Engineering project team meetings, reviewing open tasks and deadlines as well as motivate and encourage technical project team members to support the achievement of development tasks.
• Monitoring vehicle development project budget by evaluating the project development costs for parts design, testing activities, endurance cars, and manpower capacity.
• Planning vehicle development project timing by assessing the development scope and the related activities for design, testing, release and endurance in order to ensure achievement of SOP introduction of new product contents.
• Assisting TPL in defining the engineering and development scope and technical requirements and changes of components.
• Monitoring engineering release process by actively tracking technical releases from both internal and external (VW Group) sources in order to ensure that all required releases conform to VWSA production build level requirements.- Communicating with Group counterparts, local engineering and reviewing development activities to ensure that VW Group technical requirements are implemented.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
• 2-3 years' engineering experience in an automotive environment
• Understanding of technical/engineering concepts and design communications
• Excellent Computer Skills (MS Office)
• Project Management experience
• Ability to present and communicate effectively at all levels
• Proven analytical skills with an innovate approach to problem solving
• Must be a team player and be able to work independently
• Good interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• German language proficiency advantageous
