Our client is an established South African technology company specialising in smart electronic security solutions, combining advanced hardware, IoT technology and cloud-based platforms to provide intelligent security, monitoring and surveillance solutions to major corporate and commercial clients.
The company operates across sectors including banking, retail, logistics, telecommunications and commercial property, delivering technologies such as CCTV, video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, biometric systems, tracking and integrated security solutions.
We are looking for a Technical Operations Manager who can take responsibility for the effective management of a national technical team and ensure that installations, maintenance, repairs and customer support are delivered to a consistently high standard.
The Role
This is a hands-on and dynamic position suited to someone who understands the technical side of electronic security systems but also has the organisational and administrative ability to manage people, information, stock and operational priorities.
You will be responsible for:

• Managing and coordinating a national team of technicians.
• Overseeing installations, maintenance, repairs and technical projects across South Africa.
• Providing technical guidance, support and coaching to technicians.
• Monitoring technician performance, productivity and service delivery.
• Managing customer escalations and assisting with the resolution of complex technical problems.
• Ensuring technical jobs are prioritised and completed efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Managing and monitoring technical stock, equipment and inventory.
• Preparing technician payroll inputs and operational reports.
• Monitoring key operational and performance indicators.
• Assisting with improving processes, productivity and service delivery.
• Liaising with customers, technicians and internal departments.
• Ensuring that administration and technical records are accurate and up to date.
• Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with strong organisational and people-management skills.
You should have:

• 6-8 years' relevant technical experience in electronic security, CCTV, access control, alarms or a related field.
• At least 2 years' supervisory or management experience.
• A solid understanding of CCTV, access control, alarms and/or electronic security systems.
• Experience managing or coordinating technicians or technical teams.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent administrative and organisational ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to deal professionally with customers and resolve escalated issues.
• The ability to prioritise, multitask and work under pressure.
• A practical, problem-solving approach.
• The ability to work independently while taking ownership of operational responsibilities.
