Our Client is looking for a Technical Maintenance Manager to join their team

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the full spectrum of lodge infrastructure and systems, with a strong focus on solar energy, waste management, and off-the-grid maintenance. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing maintenance operations at remote locations, ensuring seamless functionality across all systems to support a high-end guest experience in a sustainable and eco-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventative & Reactive Maintenance:
- Manage daily maintenance of all lodge infrastructure including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements. Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
- Solar Power Systems Management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot off-grid solar power systems including inverters, batteries, panels, and backup generators. Monitor power usage and performance to optimize efficiency and sustainability.
- Waste & Water Management:
- Oversee sustainable waste management systems including greywater recycling, septic tanks, and composting processes. Ensure compliance with environmental standards and lodge policies.
- Team Supervision & Training:
- Lead a small team of maintenance staff, providing training and daily supervision. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient task execution.
- Inventory & Procurement:
- Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and supplies. Coordinate procurement of necessary materials with lodge management and approved suppliers.
- Project Management:
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, renovations, and sustainability initiatives. Liaise with external contractors when required.
- Emergency Response:
- Be on-call for urgent repairs and crisis situations, ensuring minimal disruption to lodge operations and guest experience.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management, ideally in remote lodge or off-grid environments.
- Proven expertise in solar energy systems (installation, diagnostics, repair).
- Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
- Experience in managing water purification and eco-friendly waste systems.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on, practical, and resourceful in isolated settings.
- Valid driver’s license; 4x4 driving experience an advantage.
- Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment.
- Trade certification (Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing) preferred.
